Job Overview
The SCS Global Services Seafood Program delivers independent third-party certification and auditing services worldwide across fisheries, aquaculture, and seafood supply chains. The program serves a diverse client base, ranging from small-scale producers to large, vertically integrated seafood companies. The Technical Specialist I, Seafood COC & Aquaculture Certification & Sales (LATAM) is a hybrid role that combines business development and technical certification responsibilities, with approximately 50% of time dedicated to sales and 50% to technical program delivery. The position is responsible for expanding SCS Global Services Seafood business throughout Latin America while supporting the implementation and delivery of Aquaculture and Chain of Custody certification services. On the business development side, this role drives new business opportunities, manages client relationships, prepares proposals, identifies cross-selling and bundled service opportunities, represents SCS Global Services at industry events, and works toward assigned sales goals. Services supported include ASC Farm and Feed, Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP), and Seafood Chain of Custody certifications. On the technical side, the position conducts and supports audits, with a primary focus on ASC social auditing and Seafood Chain of Custody certifications. The role also provides technical guidance and program support to clients, auditors, affiliates, and internal stakeholders. Success requires sound professional judgment, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and cultures. The ideal candidate is comfortable balancing sales, client management, audit activities, and technical responsibilities. They can independently manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing demands, and thrive in a role that combines business growth with hands-on certification and auditing work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management
- Plan and carryout onsite assessments of aquaculture operations against the applicable standards.
- Engage with stakeholders to explain the audit process and record and address any comments provided.
- Support stakeholder engagement activities, including documenting comments and assisting in follow-up actions.
- Monitor and track project progress, adjusting priorities and communicating risks to timelines or quality.
- Produce and review reports, ensuring these meet ASC, BAP and/or MSC/ASC CoC Standard requirements
- Serve as a point of contact for clients on routine operational and technical matters, escalating more complex issu.es as appropriate.

- Draft and submit a detailed report of audit results utilizing relevant report template.
- Review and determine suitability of client’s response to non-conformities in a timely manner.
- Maintain professional and technical competencies by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies.
- Support technical team on technical interpretation of standards requirements, complex technical issues, and ensure consistency in interpretation among staff and contractors in consultation with the program manager.
- Make routine technical contributions with oversight; escalate complex issues.
Technical Review and Quality Assurance
- Perform technical review of reports submitted by other staff or contract auditors.
- Participate in internal and external audit processes as required.
- Support responses to non-conformities by gathering information and assisting with documentation.
- Conduct Certification Decisions.
Program Quality and Innovation
- Work with the program manager in development of technical tools to support the program.
- Collaborate with Standards’-owners to update and further develop standards, and associated processes and materials, as needed.
- Contribute to special projects and technical initiatives as assigned.
Strategy Execution
- Work closely with Sales Manager for the assigned division to execute an effective sales strategy for the assigned programs, including a strong outbound sales strategy and tactics for developing new business in markets where demand is growing.
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of all services product offerings (e.g., ASC Feed and Farm, Chain of Custody and BAP).
- Assist in identifying industry trends, key developments and competitive landscape for SCS’ products and services; recommend and implement strategy to maximize competitive advantage.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for service bundling, new service development, cross selling opportunities and service enhancements to expand program offerings.
- Collect data on new sales pipeline to report during weekly sales meetings.
- Collaborate across divisions to exchange information such as selling strategies and marketing intelligence.
- Attend trainings and weekly sales meetings.

- Support program manager with initial and ongoing training for program technical staff and contract auditors.
- Represent SCS at trade shows, conferences/symposiums, technical workshops, etc. in a professional manner.
- Collaborate with team members and contribute to knowledge sharing.
Client Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to support client retention, renewals, and long-term account growth.
Minimikrav på kvalifikationer
- Bachelor's Degree in Aquaculture, Biology, Chemistry, Food Science, Environmental Science, or related field and
- 1+ years of equivalent sales work experience and
- 1+ years of relevant experience in Social Auditing and
- 2+ years of relevant experience in Aquaculture operations and
- Experience in a B2B environment selling highly technical programs or services
- Experience working on team teams and projects, mainly involving collaborative report deliverables and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience working directly with aquaculture operations.
- Professional fluency in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional fluency in Spanish, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines effectively.
- Strong attention to detail, customer service orientation, and commitment to teamwork.
- Proficiency with business software applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and database management systems.
- Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Working Remotely
SCS Global Services is recruiting all open roles to be remote; allowing our employees the ability to work flexibly and allowing SCS as a company to diversify the experience and perspectives of our growing workforce.
